What We Believe
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 English Standard Version (ESV)
Mission Statement
Liberty Transformation exists to help people; Know God, Transform in His Image, and Make A Difference.
Know God-
To know God is to know his heart and know who he is through his power, authority, and promises. This knowledge can only be attained through by faith; in hearing the word of God, studying the scriptures, fellowshipping with other believers, and staying connected to him through prayer and the worship experience.
Transform In His Image –
We highly value counseling, coaching, mentoring, and recovery ministry knowing in advance that it’s messy, requires time and involvement, and creates inconvenience. We love people who are hurting and want to do whatever we can to help. We’re a community of broken people finding healing in Jesus together. From the Pastor to the new comer, we all have faults and we have not reached perfection. But day by day as we look at God’s glory; his love, his forgiveness, his grace, his mercy, and his understanding, we slowly transform to look more and more like him.

Core Values
We Operate In Freedom: We keep it simple, fluid, and flexible, allowing the spirit of God to operate and create new opportunities to reach people where they are, while allowing others to use the gifts that God has given them to lift up the body of Christ. We try to stay un-busy and uncluttered, limiting business meetings, church committees, and red tape, so that we can shift when God changes the agenda for his Glory.
Everybody belongs: We care about the heart, not the skin, the clothes, or the body art. We believe the church ought to be a home for people of every color, shape, personality, age, ethnicity, and socio-economic background. We ought to be able to operate in a place of openness, honesty, respect, and love while creating relationships with people who are unique and different than we are.
Who We Are

Liberty Transformation Worship Center History
In May of 2013 the Lord laid on the hearts of Rev. Altressa Boatwright and Rev Dexter Scott to share with each other their calling to pastor and start a church. After their initial discussion it was quite obvious that they shared the same vision, same mind, and same concerns for the kingdom of God. After much prayer, they decided to partner in a new model of church leadership as senior co-pastors leading to the formation of Liberty Transformation Worship Center, fondly known as LTWC.
As part of the preparation process, in October of 2013 LTWC established a church council consisting of Rev. Dexter Scott, Rev. Altressa Boatwright, and Sister Stacie Scott. Bylaws were established and Articles of Incorporation were approved by the State of Pennsylvania on January 6, 2014. LTWC began their first bible study with a small group of believers on January 8, 2014 at the Freedom Theater located at 1346 N Broad Street. On Wednesday, March 12, 2014, LTWC held a pre-launch worship service in which twelve individuals accepted the call to membership and the privilege of becoming founding members of LTWC. Included as founding members were; Pastor Altressa Boatwright, Pastor Dexter Scott, First Lady Stacie Scott, Jannie Johnson, Tara Throckmorton, Leon Scott III, Dexter Scott Jr., Dorothy Goins, Shaleta McKinney, Jayden Throckmorton, Tonya Throckmorton, and Angelia Scott.
On March 16, 2014 Rev. Dexter Scott and Rev. Altressa Boatwright were officially installed as the Senior Co-Pastors of Liberty Transformation Worship Center and the first official worship service was held on Sunday March 22, 2014 at Freedom Theater, where an addition fourteen members were added to the status of founding members. In February of 2015, the church relocated to 901 W. Spencer Street and began to share space with Mt. Moriah Baptist church. During this time span the church has also appointed seven trustees, ordained three deacons, licensed two associate ministers and two missionaries.
In 2017, LTWC was blessed to launch several ministries within the church body which includes; The Women of Excellence Ministry, Men of Valor Ministry, and Liberty Outreach in India. During this same year we also conducted our first Leadership Retreat in the Poconos which helped to strengthen our overall church body and its members. In 2019, LTWC realized that we had a charge to not only do foreign missions but also home mission. As a result, the Dare 2 Care Ministry was created in which we provide food, clothing, and spiritual guidance to those that are homeless. We also provide food pantries, workshops, and holiday giveaways to those in need in our community. Recognizing the need to invest more time, knowledge, and understanding with our youth we also created the ACTS 29 Ministry – The Next Chapter which is a youth mentoring ministry, which had its initially kickoff on March 8, 2019.
As the church continues to do ministry, allowing people to Know God, transform in his image, and make a difference, it is our prayer that the lord will bless LTWC with a new building that can accommodate our current activities, in addition to a transitional housing program, and a Small Business Entrepreneur training program. History in the making….
Rev. Dexter Scott
Dexter one of ten siblings was born and raised in Philadelphia by his parents Bobby Throckmorton and James Scott. At a early age he was introduced to the Lord by his mother and joined the Galilee Baptist church. He attended Roxborough High School and later because of his love and thirst for the word he attended the Word of Life Bible Institute of Bethel Deliverance International Church and also Jameson School of Theology.
In 2000, Dexter joined the Salem Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Robert Johnson Smith where he served as President of the Men’s Ministry and also was a part of the Nursing Home and Prison Ministry. Because of Dexter’s passion for outreach he also took pride in giving of his service to the church mission of feeding the homeless. This eventually lead to him becoming an Outreach Manager for Chosen 300 Ministries Inc. In 2004, while continuing to serve at Salem Dexter was called to preach the Gospel and in 2007 he was licensed. In 2010, Dexter heard the call from the Lord to Pastor but it was not until the spring of 2013 that he answered the call. In October of 2013, Rev. Scott partnered with Rev. Altressa Boatwright to establish the Liberty Transformation Worship Center, where he serves as Senior Co-Pastor.
As a result of Dexter’s involvement with outreach he developed a passion for evangelizing the lost and unsaved. He believes that you must go into the highways and byways and compel them to come by any means necessary. As such, he doesn’t mind rolling up his sleeves, going in the trenches, and being a servant to those in need. As part of his outreach efforts, he has also been involved with several foreign mission trips to Jamaica and Nigeria where he has had the opportunity to preach and teach the word of God. While there he also helped plant gardens, dig wells, and distribute food. In 2017, Dexter had the opportunity to help start a foreign mission in India under the umbrella of Liberty. This ministry which provides the word of God, literacy classes, and monthly meals, has now grown to two villages with service to over 100 people.
Dexter has worked for the United Parcel Service for the past 25 years. As a result of his volunteer services to the homeless and Foreign mission he was presented with the James E Casey Community Service Award. This is a national award which was established by the UPS founder, James Casey to help build better futures for disadvantaged children and families. Dexter is married to the love of his life the former Stacie McClendon, and is the father of two children.
His life verse: Jeremiah 29:11-12 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, Plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you”.

Concerning God:
We believe that God is a spirit that transcends all things and his love is unconditional. He is the source of all life and is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscience. His gift of salvation and plan for our lives is everlasting and unchangeable.
Concerning Jesus Christ:
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his hypostatic union was 100% human and 100% divine. We believe in his virgin birth, sinless life, his miracles, he death, burial, and resurrection, his atoning blood for our sins, and his ascension to the right hand of the father, and his ultimate return in power and glory.
Concerning the Holy Spirit:
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells in every believer and provides power to overcome every temptation. It is the spirit that teaches us, guides us, comforts us, and intercedes for us that we may live a holy life. It is the Spirit who brings conviction to the unbeliever and causes him to see the truth of the gospel in a clear light.
Concerning the Trinity:
We believe that there is one true God, eternally existing in the unity of the Godhead. There are three persons, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, equal in divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonies offices in the great work of redemption.
Concerning the Scriptures:
We believe that the bible is God’s word to mankind. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable in our everyday lives.
Concerning Salvation:
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sacrifice needed for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation can be received freely by those that place their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It cannot be received by human works, goodness, or religious ceremony.
Concerning Justification:
We believe that through the work of Jesus Christ, we are pardon of our sins and given the promise of eternal life because of He sacrificed his life to atone for our sins. We receive righteousness, not in consideration of any works of goodness that we have achieved, but solely through our faith in the blood that our Savior shed on Calvary’s cross.
Concerning Regeneration:
We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be regenerated or born again; there must be a renewing of the mind based on divine truth, obedience to the Gospel, and a newness of life that comes through faith and repentance.
Concerning Church Ordinances:
We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be regenerated or born again; there must be a renewing of the mind based on divine truth, obedience to the Gospel, and a newness of life that comes through faith and repentance.
Concerning Life After Death:
We believe in the resurrection of the body of both the saved and the unsaved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
